Just drank castor oil!

I just finished drinking 2 tablespoons castor oil, (you can drink up to 4 tablespoons per day) it really didn't taste that bad, the texture was what grossed me out, anyways, I will keep everyone posted on my progress!

I'm due thursday, last wednesday at appointment I was 2cm dilated and 50 percent effaced.

First update: It's been about two hours, I went on a 15 minute walk and when I got back I had a pretty nasty BM (sorry tmi I know) I've had kind of an upset stomach the whole time, can't tell if it's a kind of cramping or just a result of the oil, either way it is by no means terrible, hopefully contractions kick in soon.

Update number two: It has been five hours since I drank it, I have had three BM since, I took a little nap about an hour ago and woke up with really bad stomach pain/cramping, but after I went to the bathroom it pretty much subsided. I have been having BH's on and off, but that is about normal. Hopefully something happens as the night progresses, but I am not going to get my hopes up. Kudo's to those women who actually have luck with inducing themselves!

Please keep updating!  I just had a friend today going on about how castor oil worked with both her kids...  I'm still skeptical

Update number three: Sorry I took so long to update again, I have been waiting and hoping for changes, but sadly I have nothing new to report.

The castor oil defintely worked as a laxative! I have had quite a few BM's..although nothing too terrible. I have had stomach cramping off and on throughout the day (which is new for me, I usually only get that at night) however nothing consistent and nothing timeable.

Overall, it defintely wasn't terrible, I havent had horrible stomach pain or been chained to the toilet by any means, but so far it has not helped in inducing labor. I will update again in the morning if anything changes overnight, but I think it was a fail for me!

Update: I lost my mucus plug this morning, could just be a coincidence, who knows.

I told DH that castor oil was one suggestion for inducing labor, and he thought I meant Castrol motor oil. <SMH> Good thing he's handsome and handy around the house.
