Monday Moans

DS is getting to the age where he'll zombie out in front of the television.  I don't want him growing up being as addicted to it as I was/am, so in the mornings while DH sleeps (he works night shift and gets to sleep until noon) I've declared to be no TV time.  It's best for both of us, but it's hard for me to not have something on the TV, especially while trying to entertain the baby by myself.  Just goes to show how addicted to TV I actually am. :/

  • I also almost always have the TV on for background noise. But since DD has discovered the TV and pays closer attention to it now I either turn her away from it and we play or what she really loves is Toddler Tunes on Music Choice so I turn it to that and we listen to some music :)

But you know, I used to watch quite a bit of TV as a kid BUT I was also outside a lot, so I don't think it's that big of a deal... As long as it is all balanced and our babies don't turn into couch potatoes we are just fine :)

  • Ive had a sore throat since Thursday. Im hoping it's just something in the air/my body getting used to us using the AC but Im seeing the nurse at my office today just in case. I pray that if I am sick DH doesnt catch it...the last thing I need is to have TWO babies in the house. Ugh.

HA I know exactly what you mean. My DH is the biggest baby ever! He stubs his toe and thinks he needs to lay down for 2 days and is not supposed to do anything. He'll have a papercut and say how the blood is gushing out! I mean RIDICULOUS!

I agree with this!  I actually try to get DS to watch some baby Einstein while I make dinner but he is usually more interested in being in his jolly jumper or exersaucer

  • This may not be a moan but a vent...But I am so over people being overly sensitive about every fricking thing! You can't even have a conversation with people these days without walking on eggshells! UGh!!

  • Everytime I think I am back to being able to do "just" my work, more things pile up.... I'm so tired of other people's poor planning ruining my days. (I wouldn't let it but my boss does so not much choice) It all just leads to more work and less time with DS :(
  • DS flips himself onto his tummy all the time but is not so good from rolling tummy to back. When I put him down for the night, he often starts out on his back or his side but eventually rolls over onto his tummy. Sometimes he will sleep on his tummy for awhile, but he eventually wakes up enough to want to switch positions and then can't. It is exhausting getting up to keep flipping him over. Some people might say to let him cry until he figures out how to get himself back over (which he can do) but with all his fussing and crying, I wake up anyway. I will be so glad when he can roll tummy to back just as easily as he rolls back to tummy!

  • MIL babysat on Friday. I wrote down his eating and nap schedule and asked her to stick to it because we are sleep training. NOPE! She just held him all day and said he only dozed off a few times for about 30-45 mintues. He was a nightmare to put to sleep because he was so overtired. UGH!

  • My mil chewed my husband out the other day because we have not let her keep our son over night. I got real upset. I am not ready to be away from him over night, heck he's about to be 5 months and the longest I have been away from him was 6 hours and that was just this past weekend. I was offered a job and had no clothes so my husband took me shopping and I'm sure most of you know its so much easier trying on clothes without trying to comfort a baby. So back on subject, my husband does not understand my reluctance! I am just not comfortable nor ready to be away from him and my mil just doesn't understand that!
  • I went back to work today after 2 months of being out of work and to make it even harder I had to go out of town for training so I had to leave B behind.  I fly home on Friday and then have to turn around and fly back here for another week.  I love connecting with adults again and working but I really miss all the 1:1 time with my little man.

I didn't let anyone keep my DS overnight until he was over a year old (14 months).  It was MIL who watched him that night...she is my go-to sitter and I love her though.

  • I love my mil and trust her with son. She is a nurse so know he will be fine. I'm just not ready to be away from him overnight!
