I am having a 5 day weekend! I could get used to this!
Thursday - We took the kids to Baltimore and played tourist: water taxis, Ft. McHenry, eating on the water...it was beautiful out and we had a wonderful day!
Friday - We did errands in the morning and then took the kids to see Madagascar 3. That evening, we went to a friend's church for a picnic and let the kids run around. I was up feeling crummy most of the night.
Saturday - I still felt crummy so I let the kids play video games and watch movies while L went to swim aerobics. Rallied and made a trip to Target before going downtown for the Pride parade. We walked about 1/2 the parade with Rainbow Families and then bailed to sit and watch the parade (it was really hot and I still didn't feel great.) The kids had a blast collecting beads and candy and were a HUGE hit with their "We love our 2 moms" and "2 Moms + 2 Sons = Family" signs. We left before the parade was over to avoid the crowds on the Metro and were home by 8:30 - the earliest we have ever been home from Pride.
Sunday - went to Lowes to get plants and home to work outside. The boys' Godfather was in town from France so he came over and hung out all afternoon. The kids were thrilled to see him and were out of control with excitement. We didn't make it to the pool, but grilled out for dinner, and after the kids went to bed watched the Tonys.
I am also off today. L just took the kids to camp and to work out while I stayed home. I am going to Target and Sams in a bit before meeting L for lunch. Right now I am just enjoying an empty house. Bliss.
It's seem so obvious now....and...we have found out how to get more done - once again. Be awake more. So...LO gets up between 5:30 and 6:30 and it's off to the races!
I can't remember what we did Friday night...Oh, I worked on an article for a local gay mag until late.
Saturday - Trained at a local DV agency. Then we got some groceries to prepare for our stock up the freezer day. Made 24.5 quarts of chicken stock. For some reason this activity make me feel like we are "back" - back in the game of having a more sane house and a well stocked freezer/pantry. Gave E a bath. Working on his weekend naps, and that is going well.
Sunday - My BFF came to town - brought us some lasagna and lettuce - yahoo! She and I then made a triple batch of dal and of mexican lasagna for the freezer! E had a great day - loved seeing my BFF and took 2 good naps. DW got some work done on a big project. BFF and I took E for a walk. Then DW and I went for a second walk with him. We were so proud of ourselves that we got enough done to go to bed when it was still light. Seems sad, maybe.....but we thought it was brilliant
Fri: I volunteered with my work to help clean up a neighborhood downtown. When DW found out where I was walking around at she was none too happy BUT I got off 2.5 hours early! I got ky, went to the new health food store with my mom, and the regular grocery and got home earlier than I would have normally! Ann and I had a date night. It was really laid back. I bought some different kind of cheese and some olives and bread when I was out and we went to a local park. We got coffee on the way home and played pool before goign to bed.
Sat: Up early to clean. My mom forgot her schedule so I ran that to her work. When I got home our friend C watched Ky while I mowed. Ky REFUSED to nap. It took almost an hour to get her down. *sigh* After a biref nap for me I got ready to go meet my mom for a local green tomato festival. When Ky got up we headed out. The festival was terrible. There was only two booths selling green tomato food and the rest were SUPER crowded with LONG lines. There were only like 5 other booths besides the food so we left after maybe 45 minutes to go get dinner out. Back at my mom's house I almost fell asleep on the couch so my mom sent me home and kept Ky for the night.
Sun: DW went to pick up Ky while I made breakfast. We all went swimming. DW went to pick up fast food for dinner and a couple of friends came over for movie night. We were super tired but our friends like refused to leave and Ann was not sure how to jsut ask them to leave so we could go to bed...very awkward.
Fri: E and I had pizza and a movie night at home. Chill time on the couch with my little lady...perfect.
Sat: E played in her room from whenever she woke up until 8:30 when I finally woke up (thanks to CT for spurring this idea along, it finally worked!!!). We had a relaxed morning and then went to see Mada.gascar 3 at an event hosted by my mortgage broker. E enjoyed the movie a lot, as a parent it wasn't bad. After the movie we went to our town's celebration days. Think super-small version of a fair with a few rides, booths, etc. E played a few games and won a few stuffed animals we don't really need, we walked the booths, she played in the bouncy toys and we rode the ferris wheel. We picked up groceries and dinner on the way home.
Sun: E played in her room when she woke up again, woot! Another relaxed morning and then we were outside so I could mow since it had finally.stopped.raining. E played with her friend down the street and had lunch at their house while I showered and got ready. In the afternoon we went to a classmate's birthday party at a gymnastics place. After that we came home and went to our first neighborhood BBQ. Home for bath and bed.
I'm on a long weekend (King Kamehameha Day! Yay!) which is just about the most fun ever. Coming on the tail of a week-long vacation, I feel like I haven't been to work forever.
So . . .
Saturday: Got up early for our RE appointment, drove to town, did the appointment, got our new Follistem (!), went to the grocery store to buy things for our lunch date with some new friends, went home and prepped for lunch, then went to their house and had a wonderful time. They have a great house, garden, chickens and wonderful hospitality. We stayed there until about 5 in the evening.
Then it was home to watch a movie, eat popcorn and be happy and quiet.
Sunday: My partner had to go to work, which was a little sad, so she took off early. Then I lazed around the house until time for church (go Unitarian Universalists!), went to church, sat with our new friends, who saved me a seat, then I went off to Costco for salmon, turkey burger, blueberries, avocados, pineapple and pears. We're trying to eat better and, in Hawaii, Costco is just about the only way to afford food without being a trust fund baby. We go to our local farmer's market for fresh veg, which is great.
Then my sweetie came home and we had a little fight, made up, and then had chimichurri salmon on pears and onions. It was good. Then a belly shot for me, and we started watching Downton Abby.
A great weekend, but I miss our kiddo (who is visiting folks on the mainland for the summer). She's a live wire and keeps me real.

Friday met EV for lunch at our favorite Indian buffet. Don't think we did much Friday night...
Saturday morning accupuncture, which has been amazing for my sciatic pain. Then breakfast followed by an all day shopping marathon all over the county picking up things for the new house. We got the big stuff (sofa, dining room furniture, bed...) out of the way in the last few weeks so now it's decor and nightstands, etc. Then home so I could take a nap and then out to the movies to see Prometheus, which I didn't realize was an Alien series movie or I would have skipped it. :-P
Sunday slept until 11:30am which is amazing, can't remember the last time I slept that late.. Probably the last time for a long time too... We decided to head to salvage/reuse places in Berkeley to look for some of the things on our list & we totally scored. Went home happy. EV worked on a 3D skematic of the house because we couldn't quite agree on the layout, then we went out for dinner late (after 8pm).
All in all a good weekend, despite the stress of moving and not knowing quite when...
Friday- Last day of students/work for me for the summer and last day of students for DW...she finished officially today!!
The rest of the weekend was a complete bust. We were both super sick. We did manage to get some grocery shopping and a target run in but needless to say we are both still down. Blah this is not how we wanted to start our summer. We did manage to get some new storage solutions assembled and the conversion from dining room to office is almost done (we alway eat at tray tables anyway)
We had three BFN in the Fall of 2011. It is back on to some baby making come June. Swim little fellas, SWIM!!!!
Fri: picked up MIL from the airport after work. Tried to go out to dinner at our local seafood restaurant, but it was packed. Went to the grocery store instead and bought some fish and potatoes for me to cook. After dinner, as we were doing the dishes, the water started backing up into the sink. Great. Figured we'd deal with it in the a.m.
Sat: No amount of liquid plumber fixed the problem. The bigger issue? We were having a surprise party for SIL's 50th. For 11 people. With no sink. Oy! She was super surprised, which was great. She came with her four boys at around 12:30, found her mum in our living room (surprise!), and her little brother arrived with his SO at about 1 p.m. (surprise again!). We had a nice meal, talked a lot, and she and her family ended up staying for dinner - thankfully we had some pasta on hand to make pasta salad and add some bulk to make a meal that was planned for 6 (we knew BIL and his SO were staying) feed 11. Called rot.o.roo.ter at about 7 p.m., and the tech arrived at 9:30. At 11, the clog was taken care of, but the tech cracked the seal under the sink and couldn't fix it.
Sun: Other ro.toroo.ter guy came by to fix the part the other guy had cracked. BIL and SO were supposed to leave in the a.m., but we were having fun so they stayed for lunch. Ordered lunch and ate outside - perfect! They left at about 2:30, we all took a nap, then took J to the playground. Dinner was yummy, and J hung out with out at the table playing with his letter puzzle forever. (He kept saying, "Letters! Fun!" SO SO SO CUTE!)
Friday - Started unpacking the kitchen, ate dinner at Whole Foods, went to the container store and home depot.
Saturday - more work on the kitchen and prepping our back room/walk in closet for painting. Trip to Ikea for a bookshelf and a kitchen cart. Then we ate dinner at Buffalo Wild Wings and watched the second half of the Celtics/Heat game. It was painful to watch for this New Englander, and funny because everyone in the restaurant was rooting for the Celtics. Came home and went to bed.
Sunday - C woke up early and assembled the kitchen cart. I woke up and got almost all the kitchen stuff put away, I'm down to a few boxes of things I have no idea what to do with. We made two home depot trips and a trip to walmart, and ate dinner at Whole Foods again. Didn't get as much work done as I would have liked, but got enough done that the place feels moderately livable. C and I got into a little spat about unpacking/moving in, but were able to turn it into a productive conversation about what is important to each of us.
Same sex couple TTC with donor sperm. I am 35 and carrying. Endometriosis and DOR. AMH 0.5, AFC 5-8, FSH 7ish
Friday night I ended up working really late, so we opted to sleep early and get up early to drive. We got up at 6 and managed to make it to MA by about 10:30.
We spent Saturday hanging out with the family - supervising water table and bikes while my sister and BIL got stuff done, endless book reading, legos, and matchbox cars. We went out to eat, and after the nephews were asleep watched We Bought a Zoo, which was majorly disappointing.
Sunday we went with them to the Y to play, free swim, and go to the nephews' gymnastics class. More grown up hanging out after the boys were asleep. Unfortunately though my computer that my BIL was trying to fix for me is still not fixed.
We slept over again and then drove back today...because it's staycation!
