Progesterone suppositories and peeing

So, how long do you refrain from using the restroom after putting a suppository in?  I've been laying in bed for an hour and a half since I put the suppository in and I'm nervous if I go, it'll leak out.  I also nervous if I don't use the restroom soon I will pee the bed, LOL Wink

    1st pregnancy: BFP- 6/28/09 - Found out we lost our little girl on 10/9/09 at 19w 4d - D&E- 10/14/09

    June 2010, corrective surgery for Septate Uterus and large fibroids

    2nd pregnancy: BFP- 10/18/10 - Slow rising, non-doubling HCGs, no heart beat. Non-viable pregnancy, D&C- 11/12/10

    Started Metformin 6/30/11, Started Clomid 7/20/11 - Unsuccessful

    HSG and Laparoscopic surgery revealed blocked tubes and lots of scar tissue...IVF here we come!!!

    Surprise BFP naturally!!! IT'S A BOY!!!

    I played that mind game when I was using them too.  I finally decided to just pee, and hope the important stuff had already soaked in. (Pharmacist DH said most of what comes out is the stuff the outside of the capsule is made of anyway, rather than the actual med.)  I also tried to pee immediately before putting the sucker in from that point forward (not that you won't have to go again right away anyway)!

    Diagnosed w/ endometriosis 12/2010 Laproscopic surgery & 6 months of Lupron
    BFP 12/17/2011,EDD 8/23/12,ectopic discovered 12/29/11 at 6 weeks recieved methotrexate
    Dec '12 HSG & ultrasound showed abnormalities & more endo. Laproscopic surgery in January '13 showed significant damage & scar tissue from Endo. IVF is our best shot to concieve our rainbow.

    June '13 Decided to go the adoption route!

    You didn't miss me announcing... I didn't.  I am only 3w6d and I thought I was on CD 3 when I went to see the RE Friday... because I'd already been bleeding.  It's completely stopped now and if I get good betas tomorrow, I will 'officially' announce.

    You have to push pretty hard to knock it out, peeing is fine even right after. :)

    Congrats! :) My doctor said to lay down for 30 minutes after putting in the suppository. If you get up to pee after that and some leaks out, don't worry-- they're messy and it doesn't mean that they have not absorbed yet. Hope that helps.

    Ahhhh!  I missed your intro!  Praying so hard for you!

    I tried to wait an hour but my RE said only 15 minutes was necessary.

    I am on crinone which is more of a gel so I know its a little different. I usually wait 15 minutes or so before going if I have to.

    Which ones are you on?  I am on Crinone and i take it in the morning so i get up right away and i was told that i didnt have to lay down for any extended period of time because it absorbs better if you move around.

    I wait a half an hour, anything after that is just bonus time. Even if I pee right before I usually have to go again (especially in the evening.) Congrats on your BFP! I am keeping everything crossed for you!

    Thank you Smile  I did put it in last thing after using the RR but then I had to go again.  I drank a lot of water yesterday so I am guessing that's why.

    I usually pee before I put it in (but that is only bc I always pee before going to bed).  But I do not think that there is a required amount of time that you must wait after putting the suppository it.  You will get some leakage no matter what, but it will not be increased by peeing (I don't think).

    I was told to lay down with my legs up for half an hour after inserting them...I usually pee right before I put one in, and try to hold off peeing again for an hour.  But that's just me!
    Cycle 7: BFP 1-17-12, Missed Miscarriage at 8w6d (measured 7w2d, no HB), D&C 2-29-12

    I took mine am and pm and leaked a little. I didnt hold my pee.

    I did notice once in a while (maybe 4 times total) that I lost a lot when I wiped. I started keeping one in my purse just incase I felt like most came out.

    OB said I couldnt "over do" it, so I probably "repilled" 3x the whole time I was on it.

    Anyway, it was peace of mind to know I have a back up pill in my purse.

    Dang!!! I am so excited for you.
