Labeling bottles for daycare

What's your method of doing this?  Sticking a label on the bottle itself is no problem, but our daycare requires that all parts be labeled with initials as well.  Since we use MAM and the Playtex Ventaire bottles, each has the separate base, rubber insert, nipple, and nipple ring.  I have no idea how to label these small parts.  Any thoughts?

Re: Labeling bottles for daycare

  • We don't have to label each part, but can't daycare just show you can example from another kid's bottle?

  • When DD was in daycare, I used the inch bug labels for bottles and I used thick rubber bands that goes in babys hair around the lid. Her labels were pink and so were the lid rubber bands.

This. I love them! You probably only need to label the parts DC will take apart so for us we put the rubber band around the bottles and put the stickers on the plastic base the nipple goes in, the lid, and the solid lid I have on the bottle before it gets used.  I wouldn't think you'd need to actually label the nipple. Like PP said- ask them for an example. I'm sure it won't be the first or last time they show someone.

By "each part" our daycare meant the bottle itself and the cap. Didn't have to label rings, nipples, etc.

I use stickers from Name Bubbles for all bottles, lids, and tupperware once DS  started solids.

  • I love name bubbles!  We have small ones on the cap and the write ons on the bottle itself so each day I can add the date which our DC requires.
  • We bought some Sippy Stickies (google it) for the bottles and lids. I doubt they really want you to label the inside parts. That just isn't practical or safe. If they do, I would have some serious doubts about the daycare! We take the bottles home each night and wash and steam them.
  • Stickers for big parts, sharpie for small parts.
