Most pastries and baked goods have egg in them. I just looked up a few cannoli recipes online and they have eggs in them. You can always ask at the bakery if it's not labeled. But even if something doesn't contain eggs, there's always the risk of cross contamination, especially at a bakery since eggs are a common ingredient. When in doubt, it's better to skip it.

Yeah, eating away from home is tough. At least with family, it's a bit more comfortable asking what ingredients are in things. We always bring food along with us so we know we have safe food if there isn't any wherever we're going.

I just assume that any baked good has eggs in it, unless I have an specific ingredient list telling me otherwise, to be on the safe side.
Agree with shotzie - eating out is tough. Maybe you can host the next event and then you'll have control over all the baking processes?
