Poking sensation

I've never gotten lightning crotch, so I don't know what that feels like.  I do, however, feel like something's poking my cervix.  When I went to the OB yesterday, I was 2 cm, 40% effaced at -2 station.  Could this poking sensation be the LO? 

I've also got moderate period-like cramps right now.  Definitely not the worst period cramps ever, but normal (for me) first day cramps.

    baby is probably pushing down. Things are more sensitive down there now, and since you are dilating things feel weird.
