Of course DH and I are having a hard time finalizing a girl name, if we have a second DD. Here's the short list---HONEST opinions please!
Kennedy Grace
Brooklyn Grace
Emery Grace
We have a very common last name, so we want something not too common for the first name, but not so out there that it would be weird. Our first DD is Avery Elizabeth, so I'd like something that goes with that as well.
Re: Need opinions
If I had to pick one, I'd pick Emery. The others are really NMS. But I'm not sure Emery sounds good with your DD name-- they're too similar.
TTC#1!
12/1999: Dx with Endometriosis (age 12)
5/2001: Ruptured appendix, massive scar tissue
6/2005:Dx with Interstitial Cystitis
9/2005: Gall bladder removed due to problems from cysts
7/2006: Officially Dx with Fibromyalgia (age 18)
2/2010: Partial left ovarian torsion
10/2012: SA = Low Motility
11/2012: Surgery #5 to remove scar tissue & paratubal cyst
HSG: Right tube blocked; unable to clear
Of these three, I like Emery best. Kennedy makes me think of the Kennedy family and I just cannot see the appeal of Brooklyn. But then, Avery and Emery are way too matchy.
Since you like the unisex-sounding names, why not consider Marlo, Arden, Greer, Harper, or Taylor?
Baby Name Popularity by State
I don't like any of them. I'm not a fan of trendy names, and I think all of those will scream "2012!!!!!" in twenty years.
Suggestions: Brooke, Charlotte, Alice, Emmeline, Caroline, Noelle, Jocelyn
Since you mentioned it, I don't think any of those are all that uncommon.
They're all NMS, but if I had to choose, I guess I'd go with Brooklyn simply because she could go by the nn Brooke. I'm not a fan of the presidential names (Kennedy, McKinley, Madison, etc.) and I think Emery is too matchy with Avery.
I don't know if you're looking for suggestions, but just in case, here are some similar(ish) names: Maren, Piper, Willa, Sloane, Sydney, Reese, Marlow/Marlo, Quinn
Back to the drawing board we go
. I haven't really been thrilled with anything either but I was trying to work with DH's suggestions.
I don't like any of them. What about using Grace as a first name? Grace Emery sounds nice, and Grace is about the same popularity as Avery according to the SSA list.
Grace
Audrey
Hailey
They sound like matchy twin names together.
