My daughter has never been a great sleeper, but in the past few months she has become my worst nightmare. She wakes up multiple times and often will stay up for hours before going back to sleep. She is cutting molars and canines, but I doubt that is the only reason she is this bad at night. It is affecting her behavior and my patience. It's been all-around awful for everyone

I kind of think I need to do some sort of sleep training, but I don't think any of us could handle full on CIO. Anyone have an experience like this and not have to do any kind of training? Will things just get better with time? We do rock to sleep still. And sometimes walk. And sometimes drive. For 3 hours in the middle of the night.

Re: One year old and sleep getting worse
Sorry I don't have much help to offer. DS's sleep did vastly inmprove at 18 months (after all of his teeth were in). DD is also awake for 2 hour periods in the middle of the night sometimes. I think it does have to do with teething a lot of the time and sometimes she just can't fall asleep.
I would also suggest that she may be working on new skills like walking in addition to the teething. New things = bad sleep most of the time. Also I see that she has a brand new baby brother. That is a lot for her to be dealing with at once!
Personally I would probably take turns sitting with her and try to comfort as much as possible but let her cry if she needs to. I wouldn't drive around unless that means she is out in 15 minutes instead of 3 hours. Judging by your post though the driving is just a waste of fuel.
Also is she taking 1 or 2 naps during the day? could you try going to 1 nap? Adjusting her bed time/ waking time? DD's sleep has been a bit better since she settled in to 1 nap a day.
Good luck!
