Screaming

Recently my LO has discovered that she can scream. She's not crying, really, she's just screaming to make noise (or so it seems to me anyway). Anyone else's LO do this? It's really unnerving and after only a few minutes of it, I'm totally on edge. To make it worse, our 75 lb. German Shepherd gets scared when she does it and tries to climb in my lap!

    Oh yeah! This is actually a developmental milestone, as they are simply doing it to hear their own voice.

    Definately normal.  I would talk to DS at a normal volume, and he would sometimes lower his voice back down to the same level.  I suggest trying that.

    Yup.  DD screams at the top of her lungs.  Not so much now, but when she first started it she would wake up in the middle of the night doing it.  That was fun... lol

    Phew! So glad this is normal. Although that doesn't help my nerves (or the dog's!) any! I'll try talking in a normal voice and see if that helps. Thanks ladies!
