Shutterfly question - NBR

I know a lot of you ladies have used Shutterfly, and I am a little confused.  I'm using Shutterfly for the first time to make a book for DH for father's day.  Many times when I apply the picture layout templates that they have provided it says the picture is too close to the edge - but this is their template!  Do I have to move these over, or will it be ok to leave as is?

Re: Shutterfly question - NBR

  • I always move it over a little bit. I have gotten pictures printed from them that turned out cropped weird so I would follow their warning if they say it is too close- because they will print it that way!

  • I JUST finished making books and I found the same thing. The way that I got around it is I picked a different layout for that specific page. There are tons of options to choose from, so play around with it a little bit and find which layout works (for the pages that say the picture is too close to the edge. It's definitely a blessing that they tell you in advance that the picture may come out weird!

I just got my book yesterday and it looks SO good!
    Good luck!

  • I've ordered 3 photobooks from there and had no issues with the printing in spite of their warnings that a photo or text was too close to the edge. I would just give a 1/4" or so space from the outside edges and a little more on the interior where it is bound.
