Hi ladies. I hope you all are doing well today.
I found out on 5/23 about the loss of our baby, my OB told me to go off of progesterone and it should happen naturally and if it didn't by last week, to call her and schedule a D&C. I finally got squeezed in for a D&C tomorrow morning. Nothing has happened, no spotting/cramping nothing.
Until about ten minutes ago...
This sounds gross, but when I wiped there was brownish blood, almost like at the end of your period, the "old blood". But no bright red blood like people have described. I am a little crampy but just dull, not sharp. For those of you that m/c naturally, did it start brownish or did it start bright red? I am sorry for being so graphic, I am just really confused and if I am starting to m/c, I wanted to cancel my D&C.
Thanks in advance.

Re: TMI: Spotting Related before D&C
First of all, I don't think there's any such thing as TMI on this board. No need to apologize, as we've all been through at least similar things.
For your question, mine did start out brown. Very light brown, no cramping, just spotting. We had hoped that it was just irritation from my vaginal ultrasound. (At that point we still had a sliver of hope that the pregnancy was viable and the u/s was just a fluke). That was overnight/early morning. It progressively got heavier and redder throughout that day, but was still only spotting. By late that night, it was what I'd call heavy spotting/light flow. The really heavy bleeding did not start for me until 2 days later and I had the main "event" of the m/c late that night/early that next morning.
I hope this info helps. And I'm sorry you're going through this.
It's your call and your choice, totally, but if you're hoping to not have to have a D&C, I'd personally call the dr and get their advice on if you should just wait and see if it does progress naturally, or not.
Missing our little turkey.

Mine started out brown. I had absolutely no clue that anything was wrong until I went to the bathroom and saw the dark brown blood. Within about 45 minutes it turned bright red, which is why we went to the ER.
So it sounds to me like you are starting to m/c. I think you should talk to your doctor before you cancel your d&c completely. I can't remember how far along you were, but they told me that I was so far along that I risked really heavy bleeding, infection, and needing a d&c after all that anyways. The OB also told me that it actually made the procedure easier since I had started on my own.
Hope this helps! (hugs)
I was in the exact same boat. Our u/s was on the 23rd as well. I was told by my fav MW to wait a week, if nothing then call. I waited 6 days and had no symptoms other than some really dull cramps/ache. I started to spot the night before my d&c. I wanted to have the d&c because with my luck I wouldn't have a complete m/c and would end up with a d&c anyways. Honestly the surgery wasn't bad at all, I actually preferred it to m/c naturally at home. For me personally m/c at home was more painful physically and emotionally.
I am so sorry that you are still having to go through this horrible ordeal. I'm sending you good thoughts.
Mine also began brown, then became bright red. (( Hugs )) I'm sorry you're going through this.
Thank you so much for sharing your stories with me, I called my OB and she said she would prefer that I had the D&C since my body is still unsure of what is happening/not happening. I agree. I want it to be over and I want to get a normal cycle and try again.

Good luck tomorrow. I will be thinking about you. Physically, it's not bad at all. It's obviously hard emotionally... that's the worst part.
