I have been TTC for six months and I think I am going to move on to see RE due to my age (39). I live at upper west side, any RE recommendation? Thanks.
Cornell is truly THE place to go. Dr. Owen Davis is truly at the forefront when it comes to those of advanced maternal age. Columbia and NYU also have highly regarded programs.
I went to 2 RE's to have each child. I only switched from my private RE to Cornell for insurance purposes. I loved the private RE. She held my hand, walked me through everything and the staff knows who you are right away. Cornell is probably the best but it is also a factory and very impersonal. So I'll give you both recommendations and you can decide what you are looking for.
At Cornell, I loved Dr. Davis. You rotate every time you see a RE so it honestly doesn't make much difference, but if you can get an appointment with him, he is the warmest. I saw almost every RE there since they rotate (one did my protocol, another did the sonograms, another did the egg retrieval and another did my transfer). My "official" RE was Dr. Schoyer but she isn't there anymore.
3 IUI's and 2 IVF's later- Brady arrived. Born at 36 weeks after PUPPS and pre-e/HELLP.
IUI- BFN IVF #1 -BFP! Allie is our 2nd IVF baby. Born at 36 1/2 weeks after pre-e again
I work for Cornell and thought that would be a perfect fit...until they didn't call me back...ever...over a couple of attempts. I have been working with Columbia and could not be happier. All of the doctors are wonderful, and they have such a pain-free, easy system for dealing with insurance, etc.

Dr. Schmidt Sarosi and her team are terrific. I know they accept Aetna HMO, and probably other plans, as well. They do all the testing there so you're not running around to labs, etc. Most caring nurses I've ever met.
