Failed glucose test

My blood sugar was at 161 and the lady told me that the "normal" is at most 140. Now I have to go back next Fri for the 3 hr at 6am. I will admit, I had a chocolate bar that morning (they told me not to fast or anything) and I told the lady that and she says it wouldn't have effected my results. I don't believe her.

Yeah...I'll be surprised if you fail the 3 hr test. Lots of luck!

As long as you ate the chocolate bar 2 hours before the test it shouldn't matter.  If you ate it 10 minutes before, then yes, it probably made a difference.

Why did you eat a chocolate bar before the test?  Not a good idea.  Whether or not it affected your results depends on when you ate it, I guess.  If it was within an hour or two of the test, then yeah, it probably had some affect.  Regardless though, 161 is high for the 1 hour, but all that matters is whether you pass or don't pass the 3 hour.  Good luck.
