Cloth Diapering

Newborn ON

As of our pedi appt today, my 2 week old is back in cloth! She gave us the green light since his cord fell off and his bum cleared up. He seems to be a sensitive and rashy guy, and I've been blow drying his bum at each change, since the moisture seems to be what made the rash flare to begin with. He has also regained his birth weight and now sleeps 3-4 hour stretches at night. I'm afraid going that long with a wet diaper is going to cause a rash again.

So question: do microfiber in pockets and fleece liners in a prefold/fitted just make them FEEL dry, or will it actually keep moisture off his bottom?

It's probably half and half. They do wick moisture away but are technically wet fabrics once peed on.
  • So, how horrible am I that I initially thought "wow, how amazing was that pedicure that she's switching to cloth?" ahhh man...im so pregnant.
