I just stumbled upon a facebook of a friend of my moms, and their daughters name is Story and their sons name is Leaf...

 

Maybe I just need time to let those sink in... idunno.

    Are you sure the son's name is Leaf and not Leif?  Do they have a background ethnicity or family tie to those names perhaps?

    Just trying to think of reasons they would do that besides just being you-neek.

    And didn't Joaquin Phoenix go by Leaf Phoenix for awhile?

    I don't like either names but I bet both kids will grow up with classmates who have weirder ones.

    Agreed!! I have heard far, FAR worse. I'd definitely prefer Leif over Leaf, but I don't think Story is a bad name. NMS... but still.

    Together, they're a little too "hippy" for my taste. But individually I don't think they're too bad. However, I do prefer the spelling Leif. And Story is cute, just not something I would use myself.

    Leif is not unheard of (Leif Garret), just NMS.

    Although I wouldn't use Story for my own kids, i think it's pretty and quirky. Leaf, not so much.

    I believe that was the name his parents originally gave him and he changed it.

    OP: Neither name is my style, but I don't think they're awful at all. I'd take being named Leaf or Story over something misspelled any day. I put them in the unique, but not ridiculous category.

    I would never use either one of them, but they aren't bad.  I think Story is kind of pretty.  And Leaf, spelled this way, is fine.

    I actually love Story, but word names are my GP.  I like Leif, but not Leaf.

    Welp, I obviously love Story. I also like Leaf, just spelled differently.

    I too think Story is interesting and although wouldn't use myself definite don't sideye it..   also agree Leaf isn't terrible but would def spell Leif
