Need advice and a vent!

Hi May Mommies..it's been a while since I bumped and I have a situation and looking for advice.

A girl I work with who I never was friends with had a little girl two months before my LO was born and because of that we have become friends.

Her DD is I guess you can say "advanced" for her age..or at least more "advanced" then my DS.  (walking at 9/10 months, saying more words then my DS etc).

Well anyway I'm sure she means well and think its "cute" but I am CONSTANTLY getting videos of her DD doing something "wonderful" (cleaning up her toys, eating with a spoon, riding the rides at an amusement park) plus the daily phone calls and messages on facebook.

I just go along with it and say "thats great" etc..I'm not jealous because I know every baby is different..I think it's just OVERLOAD.

Do you think I should just accept that this is how my "new friend" is and keep the peace? I wouldn't even know what to say if I said something.

Thanks..

Re: Need advice and a vent!

  • does she do it just to you or does she do that with everyone?  I really have no advice though that must be annoying, and since you work together, I'd probably just suck it up. In one ear and out the other. You could block/hide messages from FB.
  • Loading the player...
  • If she is like that to everyone you might not be able to do much other than ignore her phone calls.

  • Every baby focuses on different skills. Is there anything your DS does that her DD doesn't do. For example my bff (babywillmake3) son is 1 month younger than my DD. He started walking months ago and she just started walking 2 weeks ago. However DD focused on learning how to climb and could pretty much climb anything for a few months now. Her DS just started climbing stairs and such a few weeks ago. I would send her videos of all the awesome things DS does. At some point they will both be doing all the same things.

  • I'd roll my eyes when she isn't looking just to get the irritation out of my system - that's probably just the way she is. I know lots of moms who want to AW but not with the intention of hurting another mom.
