Cramping weeks after D&C

Missed M/C diagnosed on 5/7, D&C completed on 5/10. I was expected to be between 6 and 7 weeks. The D&C itself really wasn't terrible for me at all. Actually, it was the first time in a week that I no longer had cramping that would cause me to grab onto something to sit down. I felt fine immediately after waking up from the procedure. There was bleeding for 13 days (some heavy days and some with almost nothing).

Now it has been almost 4 weeks since the D&C and I am still getting severe cramping. My levels still haven't dropped to < 3 so I don't know if that has anything to do with it. I asked the doc and the response was to take ibuprofen. I just want to know if this is normal and what your experience was. Thanks so much for your response and try to stay strong everyone.

I am very sorry for your loss.  I hope your levels drop soon and the cramping stops as well.

I am only three weeks post D&C.  I have had mild cramps pretty much daily since my mc started on 3/30/12 but I have not had an extreme cramping since a week after my D&C.  If you are concerned, I would call the doctor back and explain the pain and tell them you think its more serious.  GL and I am so sorry for you loss.

The only cramping I've had post d&e was yesterday and that was following my 2 week follow up and internal exam.  So I think the cramping was more from the exam.  If you are concerned, I would definitely try to see the doctor.  Good luck!
