IVF Question

I am 34 years old & on my 1st IVF cycle. My question is, what is more typical, a 3 day transfer or a 5 day transfer? Does my age play a factor in this or is all on how they grow?

Your question is a FAQ and you can probably find a lot of old posts by doing a search, but the short answer is, there is no "typical" practice. Sort of like, what's typical, underwire or soft cup? Manual or automatic? Heels or flats? Pros and cons to both.

If you have a lot of embryos to choose from, sometimes they'll wait for day 5 to see which ones continued growing to a blastocyst. If you have very few, you don't want to risk waiting since some might not survive but might have in a more natural environment (you, not the lab). Some RE's have strong preferences one way or the other though.
