Hello
I usually just lurk but looking for advice on a camping trip.
We just did an over night camping trip with our 6.5 month old and it was fine for one night but my DH is concerned with a longer trip. I personally don't see the problem but he seems to think it will be easier to just use disposibles. For some reason I think it's even more important that we use CD while enjoying mother nature and not just adding to a landfill. We will be going on a 4 night trip in two weeks.
I'm looking for suggestions/comments/tips for a trip in the woods this long. we will have no access to a washing machine.
TIA

Re: CD and Camping
do you have enough diapers to last the length of the trip? If so I would say go for it.
If you have to do laundry somewhere in between, worry about detergent, coin machines and running multiple cycles, plus possible air dry of covers- it probably isn't worth it. Maybe spending a little extra money on biodegradable disposables would help ease your mind.
We've only really done car camping with DD, and we used cloth, but we were able to wash diapers halfway through the week at a laundromat.
If I had enough diapers for 4 nights, I would still use cloth. We put them in a dry bag like this when camping, and that seals them up pretty well so they don't stink (unless you open the bag, of course!)

Since I don't have enough diapers for 4 nights, if we were going to do a 4 day trip w/out any access to laundry, I would either do disposables, or some sort of disposable/biodegradable liner, likes Flips or GroVia.
If you use PFs or flats, and want to be really dedicated, I suppose you could wash them by hand in camp, but I don't know if it would work as well with pockets...
This.

Thanks Ladies!
I have enough prefolds and covers to definitly last the trip. I will bring a stash of disposibles and hide from hubby!
thanks for giving me the confidence to do it.
