Nicknames for Alexander

We love Alexander but hate how popular it is.  Are there any good nicknames for Alexander besides Alex or Zander?  I don't like Alex and Zander is the name of my brother's cat...

    Hmmm.....that's a tough one.  Alexander is one of those names that most people will assume you shorten to Alex, imo.  Other names like Harrison getting shortened to Harry just aren't as "assumed".  Would you correct people who call him Alex?

    Al?  What if you gave him a J middle name and called him AJ?  the only other thing I can think of is Andy and that's kind of a stretch...

    Hmmm...

    Al, Alex, Zander, and Xander are the only ones I can come up with. My nephew goes by Xander but it sounds like Zander.
