XP: First Day of Daycare

I just dropped my little man off for his firs day of daycare. He was fine; I, on the hand, am an emotional wreck. I didn't think it would be this hard. I was looking forward to it, even. But as soon as I pulled out of the parking lot - the water works began. I miss him, I worry about him, I miss him some more. Luckily I am starting him in daycare the week before I have to go back to work, so we could work out the kinks.

It does get easier. I was a wreck for about a week but now he has been there for two months and we are used to it. My son loves daycare and he is so excited to be there. I still miss him but it does get easier.

It gets easier- especially when you see DC happy playing with other kids and comfortable in their new environment. GL!

I did the same thing. I took DD to day-care a couple days before I went back to work. Keep yourself busy, go out shopping, run errands or do whatever. It is tougher on us then it is on them.

Hang in there!  Call at lunchtime and check on him - I bet he is fine.  I know it's tough, but it will get better.

today was DD's first day too.. i cried all the way into work.. i didn't think i'd get like this, but it was just sooo hard leaving her..
