How much fenugreek should I be taking?

I've seen fenugreek recommended all over the place to boost supply, but I'm unsure of just how much to take. The bottle says one or two, but I saw somewhere that 3 capsules 3 times a day were suggested. Is 9 really the recommended dose??!

What are your experiences? I've seen that too much might affect asthma.

The bottle I have says two pills, three times daily. I took it for a few weeks and started off with the full dose but then I just took 1 pill 3x daily for a while before I eventually stopped. It takes a few days to work so if you take the full dose and notice an increase you could probably just take 3 a day to maintain it until your body adjusts to the increased supply and you can stop taking it.

My lactation specialist told me to take 9 a day and if there are any side effects take 6.

How many milligrams is that?

I don't know how many milligrams, but if you don't smell like maple syrup yet, you're not taking enough. I always got a few side effects while taking it, but not enough to make it not worth taking.

My LC had me work up to 4 taken 3 times a day.
