Taking forever...

I feel like I have been working on this nursery forever! I still have a ton left to do and I am starting to get burnt out...I am trying to set a goal each day to make it seem not so overwhelming...ugh just frustrated. Thanks for listening to me vent.

  • With DD I had her entire room finished in a week. That included painting, stenciling the whole wall of two walls, painting the trim, and setting up the furniture and decorations. This time I have only painted the room and primed the trim after 2 weeks. I could blame part of it on us installing new carpet in her room, but I don't even know what we are doing for a crib yet. I also still need to refinish a dresser. So much still to do!

  • I'm moving when I'll be 36 weeks pregnant... so... I'll be setting it up 36-37-38 weeks pregnant?  Ha.  Good times.

My Mum has been painting a mural on our wall for 3 months.   I'm not talking about a big, huge, detailed multi-faceted mural... It's a brown tree.... With 9 green leaves.   She's been painting. For. Three.  Months.  Indifferent I wanted a decal, and she graciously offered to paint a tree for us, which I appreciate... but.....

When she initially said she'd like to paint the tree, I thought it was a great idea.   She stenciled it out in March and started painting it.... I now get calls every few days asking if she can stop by to work on the tree.   Each time she stays about 2 hours, and I don't notice a difference what-soever.... I literally can not move anything in the nursery or put the rug or curtains up until she is done this bloody tree.  Last week, I noticed it was all painted and congratulated her on being finished.... I got a "Oh! That's just the first coat!" I've finally just told her she has until the end of June, and the tree is done!  Whether it is finished or not!

That must be SOME detail.  Holy shamoley!  Yay for a cute tree though... hope its done soon ;)
