Cloth Diapering

Found CDs at the store today...

I was at a local baby store today and got RIDICULOUSLY excited when I saw they had CDs! Not a huge variety... mostly Thirsties and Knicker Nappies with some various liners, doublers, prefolds, etc. Of course I HAD to whip out my debit card for a few.

I got the Thirsties Booty Love - I've been looking for a CD safe cream that doesn't have coconut oil. It seems a little thin... is that common among the non-petroleum based creams? (I'm used to Boudreaux.) Has anyone had success with this kind?

I also got one Knickernappies pocket to try. I'm not a huge fan of pockets but it was so soft and squishy! I haven't heard much about this brand and didn't get a whole lot back from google. Anyone here tried them?

  • I haven't tried Knickernappies but I've been wanting to. I've heard good things about them. They have a "loopy-doo" hemp insert that you fold to fit where you want your absorbency to be (fold in front for a boy, in the middle for a girl, etc.) I also haven't tried the Thirsties cream, but if you're used to Boudreaux, they'll all seem thin. I use CJ's and coconut oil, and both are a lot thinner than a traditional white zinc oxide diaper cream. The coconut oil is even noticeably thinner than CJ's; it goes on as a liquid and paper thin. I haven't had any real rashes yet but any redness goes away pretty quickly with these two creams.

  • We have one Knickernappies diaper, and I like it well enough.  It performs well but I'm personally not a big fan of side snapping diapers.  The LoopyDo insert is a smart design.  The hemp inner part does a lot to boost the absorbancy of the microfiber but because it's only sewn on the ends, it dries really fast in the dryer.  I find that their diapers run really big, so I think it's one that will fit until PTing or at least close to it.
