'Roids : Who's got 'em?

I didn't have any... until today. I know my baby is dropping. OB confirmed he's coming down but is taking his time. It started with stretch marks on my lower belly, horrendous back pain for about a week (relieved by a wonderful prenatal massage), I didn't poop in 5 days, have been peeing little trickles every hour, and now I have a 'roid. I, personally, think it's huge, but I don't really have anything to compare it to.

Anyone dealing with them?

  • Yes :(

I got them from pushing out my first; now had to have them lanced during the last 2 pregnancies.  OB informed me that when we are done having kids (which may be now specifically due to the hemorrhoids) I will have to have surgery.

I am petite and it seems like mine are caused by pressure as the baby gets bigger.  Sometimes I feel like just peeing a lot makes them flare up.

I even have prescription medication and it has the worst name ever and although it shouldn't be embarrassing to fill - I hate it.

  • Yes, I started with one three weeks ago (at week 33).  It was sooo painful.  I had a hemorrhoid thrombosis (blood clot in the 'roid).  I think it was just pressure from the baby coming down. I too have a few stretch marks on my lower belly.  It was so bad I could hardly stand or sit down.  My doctor ended up sending me to a specialist and this doctor lanced my 'roid (taking the clot out). This brought me relief.  I feel 90% better and I still have the hemorroid.  I know that it is probably inevitable that I will get more of them or this one could get worse during labor.  All I wanted was relief going into labor.  Mine felt huge.  Is it painful?  If so, talk to your doctor to see what you can do for relief!  I feel so much better

I've actually been dealing with a fissure for over 6 years now and have had two different creams. The first time I filled the second prescription, the tech handed it to me and said, at normal volume, "Do you have hemorrhoids?" I said no, embarrassed (DH immediately walked away). Then she asked me what it was for!!! I told her I had a tear and she said, "Oh, okay, so you know where you're putting it? Make sure you keep the area and your hands clean." I wanted to die. My GP told me that I may eventually need surgery for the fissure, too. Ugh!

  • I do :( They came in for a couple of weeks and had gone away but now that the baby dropped they came back. What sucks is that I do not have constipation, so I think it is just from the pressure and constant peeing :/
