My H is a wrestling coach and was scouting out a tournament in Ohio for recruiting purposes. He found some truly awful names and asked me why anyone would do that to a child, so I thought I'd share some of his favorites! All teenage boys, from all over the US.

Fox is a GP, but I wouldn't do that. Perhaps they were X-files fans.

Most of the names are nms but not horrible. I have an older step cousin named Braun. He's in his late 30's and lives in the midwest. The names probably reflect the naming trends of the area they were born.

I was going to comment that at least the Braun is an athlete and not a skinny book-ish guy.  How bad would it be to be named Braun, but actually be the exact opposite!

I kinda like Fox. I generally like nature themed names anyway but I don't like any other names on the list.

Is Braun a family last name that they used as a first name? I grew up in the Midwest, I knew some people with the last name Braun.

Well, at least Jaylon is spelled Jaylon. I have a Jylon, pronounced Jaylon. Everybody pronounces it with a long i. Sigh!

Jens is a totally legit Danish name (variation of Johannes apparently). I used to know a total hottie with that name who was just the sweetest guy. As for the rest, wowzers.

I think Jens is a great name. Other than that. yeah, not so good.

I had a boy in my class named Jens.  His parents were first generation from Germany...maybe it's a very German name (I am German and I don't even know...sorry).

 

But the other ones...wow...

I know a couple of Jens (pronounced Yens)-  and they are Danish.
