Have a family member we want to honor with the name Abigail, but the name is so popular right now that I fear she will be drown in an abyss of Abbys. What do you think of the NN Gail? Too old?
(also...don't know if I am having a girl yet but this is something we considered for my last pregnancy and I blew it off b/c Abigail was too popular...so starting to think about again more seriously with #2)
Re: Gail for Abigail?
1998 Ovarian Cancer Survivor. 7 Miscarriages: 6w, 13w2d, 4w2d, 7w4d (DD's twin), 5w. Failed Tubal after c/s (!!): 5w2d, 6w4d
This. I'd much rather DD drown in a sea of other Abbys than spend her life stuck with an ugly nn like Gail. It's so unattractive to me, whereas Abigail is quite lovely.
I think Gail is nice.
Thanks for the responses everyone! The relative I (might be) naming her (if indeed we are dealing with another she) is named "Gail". Including that as part of her name is probably enough to get our point across, and we will likely call her the infinitely cuter Abby or just Abigail. It can't be all that bad to have a common name? many people choose them! I could always just spell it Abygale.
KIDDING.
Thanks for the input.
