More babies born during storms?

Someone at work told me that more babies are born during strong storms because of the pressure difference.  Anyone else hear of this or think it's true?

We're supposed to get strong t-storms tonight, so I'm wondering if I can maybe expect a little jump-start on labor. (Ok, I know, I'm probably being silly, but I'm so ready for LO to get here!)

StormHere's to hoping! Storm

  • We wonder if that is why DD1 came a month early. The day before I had her it was pretty nice outside then slowly over the evening it became rainy, windy and cold. My water broke around 3am the next morning and on the drive to the hospital it was snowing. Makes you wonder :)

  • Interesting. I don't know about storms but everyone keeps telling me that there's a full moon on the 4th. Supposedly that can bring on labor. You never know!

  • LOL @ the desert.

FWIW, we had some pretty good storms a few nights ago, and my little dude is still an inside baby -- despite the fact that he is big, low, and poised to emerge at any moment according to my OB.

Me too!  If the moon's gravitational pull can affect the ocean's tides, you never know!  I'm banking on the 4th, as my due date is the 6th.  :)
