Sesame Place?

Has anyone been here?  We are going this weekend, wanted to see if anyone had any recommendations, what to do, what to stay away from, etc.  I've been looking through tripadvisor but thought I'd post here.  I hope my 4 1/2 year old enjoys the trip, my 2 year old is in love with Elmo but my oldest seems to have outgrown the show already........ :(

Re: Sesame Place?

  • We also have season passes and have been 3 times already this year.  My kids do not love the show, DS did until about 3yo, but they both LOVE Sesame Place.  They love the rides, shows and the characters.  Their favorite show is the Rock and Roll show, I forget the exact name - if it is very hot sit to the left and you can get out of the sun and the sun will continue to move behind you instead of in front of you but if the sun is bearable sit in front.  My kids also like Elmo's World Live, your little one should love it, the best seats are either right in the front or up top so you can exit easy.

Flying Fish usually has the longest line for a dry ride, it is like Dumbo except only one parent and one kid can ride together, the line for this can get up to 20 minutes, if it is one single row or slighly wrapped then get on it then.  My kids are not big dare devils, they still like the little activities under the climbing nets like Cookie Monsters Mountain although DS seems to be outgrowing it at 5yo, he did the roller coaster this year but I know many younger kids that do it starting at the minimum age of 3.

The wet rides are awesome.  When you walk in the park and go left to the wet rides there is a family water slide, if you little one does not get scared super easy it is great.  When you go to the water rides that way, on the right is a slide that you can do two people at a time and the line is not usually too long and moves fairly quickly.  Do the water slides early to avoid lines.  Oh, and their are slides in the Count's Castle that my 5yo is scared to try but I think a daring 4yo could do.  And Ernie's Waterworks is a ton of fun.

If you eat on the early side you will have better seating and shorter lines, you can bring food in a small cooler if you want but it has to be a small cooler or you have to eat outside the park.  Oh, and the indoor restaurants have upstair seating and their are elevators, often people will carry their huge strollers upstairs without knowing!

Have fun, I love Sesame because my kid's have so much fun.

We went when my kids were 4 & 2.  THEY LOVED IT.  The best thing we did was buy the line-buster passes.  I forget what they are called, but you can buy them on their website.  It was pricey, but soooooo worth it.

Also, an FYI - don't wear crocs (or other shoes that would fall off easily) when climbing through the overhead nets.  There are some parts where you'd have to get a staff-memeber to help you retrieve them if they fell off.
