June 2012 Moms

Is everyone being told this?

Everyday now strangers and relatives come up to me and tell me there's no way I'm going to make it to my due date I'm just too big. I'm measuring right on track and have no reason to believe I won't make it or even go past my due date but people seem to be very sure that I'm going early. Do people just say this to everyone or am I the only one getting this very annoying piece of information from total strangers?

  • People say it to me ALL the time, even strangers. It's getting annoying.

  • I had a cousin tell me I wouldn't make it to my due date because of how much I am swelling. DH's grandma said I would go over my due date because my stomach isn't big enough.... Yesterday the doctors decided to induce me at 39 weeks because of LO's lack of growth. Guess my cousin won, though not for the right reason lol

  • Get it all the time :(. I just try to ignore them or respond with a my dr says... some stranger in target yesterday asked me how far i was and when i told her she was shocked and asked me if i could still walk hahaha seriously how did i get into and around the store.
  • CONSTANTLY!!! Everyone offers up their board certified OBGYN opinion on when I will/should deliver this baby. It's completely irritating.

  • I'm getting those comments, but not because I'm big.  I'm getting those comments because I look like crap and walk with a limp (thanks sciatica).  So ready to be done.

I have been getting this since the beginning of May. People had me convinced that I would go early so the time is dragging because I keep thinking that I should have had the baby by now. I have to remind myself that I am not even over due yet the baby could still come on time. SO annoying!!

  • I'm starting to really have fun with strangers.  They all have a heart attack when they ask when I'm due and I say, "5 days ago..."
    So at least that's entertaining.
No, my water is not going to break on your store floor.  Put the mop down.
  • I keep getting the opposite, which is also quite irritating. When someone asks me when I'm due, I tell them the 5th and then say, "But I'm expecting to meet him any day, really." And nearly everyone says, "Don't be so sure about that." I'm just trying to be positive and upbeat, what the heck are they trying to be? Some people should just stay indoors away from the general populace.

Yes, yes, yes.  The limping is so not cool.  Plus, I refuse to buy any more maternity clothes, even though I've outgrown all of mine.  Hence the looking like crap all the time.

    Thank God we're almost done!

  • I'm getting the opposite also.  I don't look anywhere near 39 weeks.  Everyone things I'm only 7 months along.

  • I've been told that too. I want to tell them to stop getting my hopes up.

  • if I get the "You're about to pop" one more time...I'm going to pop the person in the face. Do they not think I know that I'm 12 days from birthing a child?

  • I'm getting the opposite too and everyone thinks I have a few more months to go.  Nope due in 9 days and yes I'm measuring right on track.  I'm tall so I think that has something to do with it as well but it's soo annoying!  You do not have an OBGYN degree or know me so don't give me your opinion!

THIS!!! Even my husband thinks I'm going to go early. I tell him "I love you for saying that, but I will kill you if you're wrong."

I'm pretty sure people aren't used to seeing 9-10 month pregnant women walking around going about life as usual, otherwise they wouldn't open their idiotic mouths.

I get these typs of comments too about how I'm not going to make it, etc. I tell them all that I'd love to deliver now but that with my luck I'll probably be way overdue. Trust me, I want this baby to be born more than you!

  • I just had a rant about this as well on here lol. Just had to add that my mother is driving me nuts...when everyone says it'll be early...she agrees...now that I'm getting close to the due date..she thinks it'll be late. It's like she keeps changing her mind so that she can say "I was right!" she asks me how I felt tonight..and I told her I'm in alot of pain but I don't know what is going on..to which she says " oh..I've been thinking about it, and there is no way you'll have her early, so just relax" thank you Dr. Mom!

GRRR lol when it does happen I should wait to call her, then when she asks why I did that, I am going to reply "well I thought you knew when it was going to happen!" lol
