We met with a HB midwife yesterday morning to just talk things over. We specifically talked about prolapsed cord, since my SIL had that happen to her in her hospital birth and her baby "would've died" had she not been there. The MW explained how it would be handled and being so close to a hospital actually makes it safe for us to try a HB despite the fact that there is a minimal risk of that happening.
Dh and I talked about it last night and he is actually on board with a HB!! (As long as I have a healthy, normal pregnancy.) I'm shocked and excited and nervous I think we'd be the last people on Earth to have a HB if you knew us 5 yrs ago, but now we're going forward with one!
