At what week did you ladies first see your OB? I am currently 14w 3ds and haven't seen my OB yet. I was told that I won't get an appointment until Aug.16th which I will be 25 weeks by then.
SERIOUSLY??? NO!! Find another doctor! I heard that after so many weeks you should not have an ultrasound unless something is wrong.....No, no, no, no, no.
I was 17 weeks before I saw my OB, I am doing shared care with my family doctor so I saw her at 4 weeks and until 17 weeks. That seems really far off I would look into that better and if that is when they want you I would find about OB.

I was in at 6wks to determine how far along I was, but generally my OB sees you at 8-10wks!

That's crazy. They should definitely take you. Dumb questions but did you tell them you're pregnant? You should see a dr. asap, whether it's with that dr. or find someone else. I had my 1st appointment at 5w6d.

This. You should have had at least 1-2 u/s by this time, or at least heard a HB. I would definitely ditch this dr asap.

So you've had no prenatal care at all? You haven't seen a NP or your family physician or a PA or any medical professional? If so, that is not the norm and I'd either demand an appointment ASAP or find a new OB practice.
My doc is a good doc and I had bleeding at the beginning so she referred me right away. However not a single OB has gotten back to her or I at all, even considering she mentioned she was worried that I could have been high risk. This is the first OB that actually responded and said that they would take me. My family doc has sent out referrals to every OB she can. I had a NT scan done recently and got to see the baby and the heartbeat is 162. I find out all my results next week but the baby looked good so I am keeping my fingers crossed. I have an appointment today to go in and speak with my family doctor again but I may not have any choice but to wait as referrals have already been sent out to all OBs within reasonable distances to the city I live in.
Also I have seen my family doc several times and had one emergency ultra sound at 6w 6ds and I've heard the heartbeat already and had a NT scan just a week ago.

That is a terrible position to be in...If there is even a chance you could be high risk, I would go to a different city to guarantee that you and baby are getting the care that is needed!
Find someone else. I was 4 weeks the first time I saw my OB & he immediately did an u/s to make sure the placement was correct. I have seen my OB EVERY time I have an appointment and have had an u/s at every appointment. I hear the u/s each time is uncommon. Seriously find someone else you need prenatal care.
GO to Planned Parenthood today! They will get you in with an OB asap.
I've had appts at 3 weeks, 8 weeks (u/s), and 12 weeks. My next one will be at 16 weeks. You should be monitored for blood pressure, blood work, weight, etc.

That is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard. Did you forget to tell them you were pregnant? If you did, this is not proper prenatal care. You should have already been to the OB likely twice by 14 weeks. Come on now - you know this is not normal.
Find a new OB, like, yesterday.

I haven't had anymore bleeding since 8 weeks and from the ultrasound I recently had I was told the baby seems to be doing just fine. When they did an ultrasound the first time to see where the bleeding was coming from they were not able to tell as everything was good and the bleeding had stopped. Since then I've been 100% just concerned at not having an OB yet.
You need to find another OB immediately. There can be serious developmental issues that need to be identified before 20 weeks. Especially since some can be corrected! I can't believe they wouldn't see you until 25 weeks!
Thanks I will check that out. My doc has been monitoring me for all of that since the first time I came in. She is just as annoyed with the OB's as I am. She has sent out several referrals to all the OBs and on several occasions as well. I called the one hospital and they told me that OB's here in the GTA do not see any patients any earlier than 16-17 weeks, which I thought was crazy but 25 that's really insane. I will let all of you know what my docs has to say or what I can get dealt with at my appointment today. Thanks ladies.
Well, all of your f/u info would have been helpful in the original post.
I would not just sit and wait for an OB to "get back to me" or wait until 25 weeks to see one for the first time. Like PP said - I would go to Planned Parenthood or, I would just drive to the nearest bigger city and find one that would see me. I don't care how far it is. I require proper prenatal care for my baby - especially if your doctor thinks you are high risk. Don't just wait around - be proactive.

Ahhhhhhh........I remember you now. You asked a similar question at the very beginning of your pregnancy and got all sorts of bitchy with me when I told you then, as I told you now, to find an OB because there are certain things OBs can/need to do that family practice doctors cannot do. You were adamant that your family practice doctor was fine b/c all of the OBs were "too far away" or something like that.
Yeah, I haven't changed my mind, esp. now that I see you may be high risk. Find an OB and see said OB before 25 weeks. The end.

I'm sorry but I don't recall what your stating at all and I don't feel I'm being bitchy with my responses. I am sorry if you feel that way. I was simply asking a question and I got replies and I appreciate the replies. I never once said JUST my family doctor was fine. I am concerned and I have been calling around myself and trying to get an appointment with an OB. I've tried several cities around me and no one has gotten back to me or my doc. I am not here to argue just here to get advice that is all.

I'm not saying you are being bitchy now. I am saying I remember you from a much earlier post about this same topic when you were, indeed, bitchy when I (and others) were giving you similar advice. In your previous post I believe you did say your family doctor was fine when you explained you couldn't find an OB close to you - or something.
Whatever. 25 weeks is not ok. No one is going to say it is. Go to Planned Parenthood and see what they recommend. Obvs. your doctor is not doing you a service in finding you an OB - so try something else.

WHAT!? No way. You should have been seen around 8 weeks to date the pregnancy and make sure it is en utero and again for an anatomy scan to make sure everything was developing properly at 20 weeks.
ETA: Just read your follow-up posts. Ok, so your regular doctor has seen you to do the basic stuff, but that doesn't mean you should not be seeing an OB. Where do you live that there are no OBs in the area? And why are YOU not on the phone every day tying to get an appointment if you are so concerned? Also, why do you need a referral?? You're pregnant, that's the doctor you need.
Clarifying that your in Ontario would be highly helpful as well. Things work differently here, you cant see an OB or a pediatrician or any other specialist without a referral from a Family Doctor. Generally here your family Dr looks after you and schedules ultrasounds and all prenatel care until your about halfway through your pregnancy when you start to go to the OB. If you were high risk you probably would have already been seeing an OB to even get pregnant. I saw my OB for the first time at 13 weeks which is concidered early for a referral. To be honest I got better care with my family Dr because he knew me and took time with me, OB's tend to rush you out and only see you for such a short period of your life. So nothing to worry about that you arent seeing one till 25 weeks, your being cared for by a Doctor and thats all that matters.

Indeed her location, and the fact that this is apparently standard practice in Canada, would have been very helpful.

Either I'm confused or stupid but in other posts you've stated hearing the HB, having a good U/S and your family Dr saying that everything is ok ? To my knowledge you HAVE in fact been seen numerous times ? What's the issue ? I also see that your siggy is an U/S picture ? I'm really confused....
I saw my OB the week I got a BFP (I was 4 weeks at the time). I didn't get an u/s until a few weeks later. I would def find another doctor if the first time he/she can see you is in August.
I've been seeing a midwife/NP since I was 9 weeks. I don't think I'll see an actual OB until I go into labor. (That's how they are set up at the hospital I go to.) If you're not getting any prenatal care you need to find someone ASAP. Call Planned Parenthood, they'll get you in.

oh and to answer your question, I saw my OB at 8 weeks.
Same here, my first appointment was at week 8 and I've seen him every 4 weeks since. If I were you I would checkout my insurance network and see if there are any other good Dr's in your area (or midwives). Thats too long to wait....
Wow, really? Why so late? I'd look elsewhere...depending on your practice, you may not get an u/s til 20 weeks, but you definitely should've already started your monthly appointments for proper prenatal care.
I had my initial visit with my midwife at 9 weeks and started my real appointments at 12 weeks.
Edit: Okay, read other responses. Seriously, if you're getting prenatal care from your dr. (which it sounds like you are), and if you're in Canada and it is common to see a family dr and to have ob appointments later in your pregnancy, what's the big deal here?

Odd...I saw my OB at 6 weeks with my first and this pregnancy I'm only see a peri and I went in at 8 weeks...25 weeks sounds CRAZY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For both pregnancies they've run blood tests and my luck I've always ended up taking extra vitamins...that just does NOT sound normal...

I saw my OB at:
About 6 weeks (and again at 8 weeks to see the hb)
12 weeks (and again for my NT scan at 13 weeks)
18 weeks (and again for my a/s at 19 weeks)
I went in for 2nd scan at 21 weeks because the baby had an EIF and enlarged kidney)
I go to my OB again in 2 weeks (I'll be 25 weeks)
You really, really should get another OB. That's crazy to wait until 25 weeks.
I can't believe it & agreed with PP, find another OB. I'm sure this OB is not the only OB you can see.
You can see family practice doctor if you want too, if it's the only option you have right now.
I was 4w pregnant when I had my first appt & about 5w for my first u/s.
If you want to have an NT scan, you can't do it after you're 14w pregnant.

I have seen my OB at the following:
6 weeks (dating u/s & view heartbeat)
8 weeks (monthly appt & u/s due to spotting)
10 weeks (1st tri-screening bloodwork)
12 weeks (1st tri-screening u/s & monthly appointment)
16 weeks (monthly appointment and listen to heartbeat)
17 weeks (unplanned appointment, spotting)
19 weeks (anatomy scan)
20 weeks (monthly appointment and listen to heartbeat)
There is no way I would have waited until 25 weeks with everything that has happened in this pregnancy...

I see my family doc until 20 weeks, and she refers me to an OB from then on. It's standard here.
My family doc does ultrasounds and prenatal care, it's just later prenatal and delivery she doesn't do.

Second @17w, met with OB
Third @21w, ultrasound, met with OB
..... and every 4 weeks until I'm closer to my due date
