D&C and incompetent cervix...

So I've had 2 previous D&C's due to missed miscarraiges, and I was just wondering if anyone else who has had multiple D&C's had any issue with incompetent cervix?  My doctor doesn't seem worried, but she hasn't checked my cervix at all!  Now that I'm going on 17 weeks I'm getting a little nervous...Is there any reason to be worried??

Unless you're spotting or bleeding, I wouldn't worry about it. I'm 24 weeks and they haven't given a hoot about my cervix. If you have an anatomy scan around 20 weeks, they'll look at your cervix on the ultrasound.

I've had 1 D&C and 2 LEEP procedures done.  They were slightly concerned about the length of mine, more from the LEEP since that essentially cuts off the end of your cervix than the D&C.  They've done an u/s on me every time I've gone and it's been fine.  She said they would do one next week at my 16 week appt and one at my 20 week appt.  If all is still well at 20 weeks, they're not going to check it anymore.  If it looks too short she said that they would consider a cerclage (to sew it shut).  But again, they didn't seem overly concerned about it.

BTW....I had the D&C done before my daughter was born (miscarried before her) and was able to carry her without a problem.

Just wanted to say thanks for posting this. I'm having a LEEP after this pregnancy and I am slightly concerned about how it will affect additional pregnancies (we would like to have the option for one more).  It is always comforting to hear positive stories.

At your 20-week ultrasound they review and measure your cervix.  Just hang in there a few more weeks and all will be checked.

I have had 2 D&C's and also the LEEP procedure and haven't had any problems with my cervix.

I am sorry about your losses   I have been through the D&C, actually just back in Nov, and my dr hasn't seemed concerned at all.  I actually didn't even put 2 and 2 together that it may cause that, but thanks for posting, as I will ask him at our AS in a few wks!

I had a LEEP in 2010...

I have had cervical check u/s at 14 weeks, 16 weeks, 18 weeks, 20 weeks, 23 weeks, 25 weeks and my last one at 28 weeks.
