I agree with PP, I started making my own cleaners and do a lot with Baking Soda , Vinegar and Castile Soap. I also use rags to clean rather than paper towels. The other change I have made, since I live a 3 minute drive from the grocery store, is to walk or ride my bike there, rather than drive.

The first step is wanting to change. Then like the PPs said realizing you won't change everything overnight. I would prioritize and starts tackling your list that way. In our case, we started with reusable bags and recycling (which we had done for years) but it wasn't until LO was born that more than living green I wanted to live nontoxic so my priority was foods and personal products, so we switched to almost 100% organic foods and homemade body/hair products then came cleaning/detergents...and I'm still a work in progress. My biggest advice would be to check out 5 easy steps by healthy child healthy world.
Re: Where to start....
I think the first thing is to have an attitude that you aren't going to be able to change everything all at once.
I think the first thing we did was switch to reusable grocery bags
Recycling and turning off lights we don't need at home
Then changing our bills to online versions (haven't gotten them all yet though)
We also switched to earth friendly (or friendlier?) cleaners
As you make these small changes you become more mindful and then the next steps for your family will probably fall into place.
Good for you and have fun with it, you don't want to burn yourself out and forget the whole thing.
