  • I went back to work when DS was 5 months - disaster. But while it lasted...

?1. He was 5-8 months old

    2. None. I would send 4-6 ounce bottles for 3 feeds a day and he would just not drink them. Seriously he would rather starve. It was daycare at work so I went to feed him at lunch. He would seriously go from 8:30-1, then to 5pm without eating in between.?

    3. I pumped, and I think if he had been taking the bottles I would barely have kept up. ?My supply dropped so that instead of getting 7-8 ounces per pump just before I went back to work, I was only getting 3-4 ounces. I pumped every 2 hours and straight after feeding him at lunch. BTW I used to get the same amount after a feed as I did any other pumping. The pump is really inefficient compared to a baby (and I had a great electric pump)

    4. We started solids around that time (6 months) and it made no difference. He would take very small amounts at daycare some days. He really didn't take to solids until he was 10 months old.

?PS- he got expelled from daycare for being a freakish child, the first she'd ever seen who refused bottles. Yeah right. She was a witch. So I quit work and stayed home while we were on a waitlist for a professional outside provider. By the time he started there he was weaned (17 months).??

  • 1. ?7 1/2 months

    2. ?DD has been taking two 6 oz bottles at daycare

    3. ?Until this past week, I have been sending all BM, but I have been having problems pumping that much for about 2 months, so now I am doing 1/2 BM and 1/2 formula. ?I BF DD fine when I am with her, just can't pump enough.

    4. ?DD is on 3 meals of solids a day. ?She always has lunch at daycare and if I am running late, I have them give her breakfast.?

  • 1.  3.5 months

    2.  Between 14 and 18 -- I send 3 4-oz bottles and 2 3-oz bottles because he likes to eat smaller amounts more frequently.  He sometimes won't need the last bottle.

    3.  Yes.  I usually pump about 18 or 19 ounces.

    4.  Nope, too young.

  • 1. A little over 3 months

    2. 4 bottles of 4.5 ounces

    3. Thankfully yes, so far. I pump about 2-4 oz extra in three pumping sessions at work.

    4. Nope.

  • 1. How old is DC

    almost 10 months

    2.  How many ounces of BM does DC take at daycare

    about 15 oz.

    3.  Are you able to pump and keep up with this demand

lately I've been pumping about 10 oz. so they suppliment with formula

    4.  Any solids yet?  If so, how many during the (daycare) day?

yes.  as much as she wants to eat ... fruit purees in AM and veggie purees in PM ... plus baby cereal mixed with BM for both.

At home she's doing chopped-up soft solids ... and doing wonderfully picking it up and feeding herself all fruits and veggies ... plus yogurt, oatmeal, pasta, rice, a little cheese, cheerios

My darling daughter just turned 4 years old.

    2.  How many ounces of BM does DC take at daycare - about 16 oz

  • 1. DS is 6 months old.

    2. He takes between 22 and 27.5 oz of BM at daycare (he is there from 8:00am to 6:00pm)

    3. On a day to day basis, I cannot keep up with DS's demand and I have had to dip into my freezer stash, but I can replace some of the stash on the weekends.  My stash is slowly depleting, but I'm hanging in there.

    4. I started DS on rice cereal just after he was 5 months old.  He is up to 2 tablespoons, twice a day.  We also introduced sweet potatoes last weekend and he seems to like it.  He eats 2 ice cube size portions of sweet potato, once a day.
