Returns?

My work is amazing and just threw me a very generous baby shower.  However I think I got 150 (no joke - between family, friends and co-workers) 0-3 month sized clothes - I have 6 drawers and they won't fit in there (just the 0-3 I'm putting away the larger clothes).  I think I also have about 15 receiving blankets, 30 bibs, and 5 regular blankets.  The baby isn't even here and I know I'll get more gifts when she arrives.  I'm VERY greatful.  This is my 3rd child and everyone has been spoiled enough not to need to wear an outfit more than a handful of times for their first year of life.  Seriously - some people got me 6 outfits!!! 

 Soooo I need to exchange some for bigger sizes - of course very few have gift receipts.  I know some are Chicco target - do they do returns w/ out reciepts?  What about Walmart?  Some are faded glory from there.  What about Khols or Carters?  I got a lot of carters and can't tell where it's from.

 Any advice is appriciated : )

I know Kohls carries a lot of Carter's. I think JC Penney does too. Do you have a Smartphone? I've scanned the bar codes with a bar code scanner app on a few things I want to exchange for bigger sizes and it brought up where carried them.

Target you can return things with out a receipt up to $70ish per year.  Walmart, no clue.  Kohls, you could at least exchange carters stuff there for a larger size.

Wow, how nice to have so many excitedly awaiting your little one's arrival. You are a very lucky mama. It might sound crazy but I don't think 15 receiving blankets and 30 bibs is excessive, especially when she starts spitting up and eating solid foods. I would hang on to those. Target will take a limited amount of returns without a receipt but is much mor lenient about exchanges so maybe just go and find some bigger sized clothes to exchange for.

You should be able to get store credit at Walmart or Target.  Kohls will take all the Carters stuff back, even if it's not from there, and they'll also give you a store credit.  I use the red laser app on my iphone to scan the barcodes and it tells you local stores that carry the product.  Good luck.

Yes, they do take anything back.  That is awesome you got so much stuff, but you will use the 0-3 clothing for such a short time period that it is probably well worth it to get bigger sizes.

If you are registered with Target they wave the $70 per year limit....it doesn't matter if you registered for the item or not...they only ask me for a printout of my Gift Purchase Log (They can show you in store), and they attach it all to that.

haha I feel the same way, I just has the 1st of 3 showers last weekend, and got so many newborn/3 month clothes.  and this is AFTER my mom went crazy buying the 1st grandkid baby clothes (she ended up exchanging some of the smaller clothes for larger sizes in the end)

I def plan on going up to 6-9 month ish sizes.  Like you I don't have many that have receipts.  But this def helps me feel better about buying 6-9 month clothes for friends kids .

They do.  When I worked there, we had customers who brought in target and walmart brand items and Kohl's took them back.  Also, used items like totally worn and torn jeans, etc... and we'd just happily give them store credit.  Now, I did not work in that department but I would have hated to give frauding people free money like that.

Walmart is pretty good with returns without receipts. Target will give you a limited amount of returns without a receipt cause they ask for your drivers license. Also if the item is in their system they'll give you the lowest selling price and give it in cash. Kohls will take it back without a receipt, however it will be a very low price. I went to return an outfit without a receipt for there and they were gonna only give me $4 so I decided to keep it. Carters can be from random places, I know I got a lot of Carters things from Kohls but also Macys has Carters.

Good to know! Also they carry Carters at Target as well so they could be from there as well. Most places will just give you store credit for the lowest selling price the past 30-60 days or you can do an even exchange (exact same piece but different size).
