I'm not sure how to make this a clicky but found a great article on Yahoo! about procedures that aren't necessary most of the time when pregnant. I found it interesting and agree with most things on the list. Just passing on some info...

While these are good things to ask about, I think the language in the article is a little strong. Just because one study suggests a certain treatment may not have the benefits we assumed doesn't mean women should substitute the judgment of... The editors of Consumer Reports? or their own judgment or believies for the informed professional judgment of their healthcare team.

I was just about to post this, I really enjoyed reading it. I find if interesting because a few friends have had their children by C-section and they were not high risk what so ever, but a few of them confessed their doctors were going to be out of town. "So everyone thought it was best to have a C-section instead of them being delivered by someone else".

Yes

I feel like a lot of things revolving around birth that are "routine" are unecessary. I am not sure how they became routine, but just becuase something is routine doesn't mean it is always the best option or even necessary.
