Shape sorter question

Can your LO get all the shapes into the shape sorter?

Aaron has no problem with most of them (square, circle, star, triangle, etc.), all the ones with similar sides. He still has trouble with the heart because it has the two different ends. He hasn't figured out that he has to turn it a certain way to get it to fit.

He can pretty much get all of them in. We have a couple different ones and they are some of his favorite toys.

Sometimes he does take a little longer to get the different end types ones in there - but if I just tell him that he needs to slow down and turn it around he usually gets it. Or I take his hand and flip it around for him and show him that way too.

Ours has a big hole in the top, so when he gets frustrated he just dumps them in the top, haha.  But he has put the shapes through before with varying degrees of success.  I think sometimes he just doesn't want to take the time.

We don't have a heart on ours, but yes, he can do them. Sometimes he needs a little guidance, though. His has a square, triangle, circle, plus sign & star.

The top of our comes off so its more like take top off of box, dump out all shapes. Throw shapes back in through the big opening. There is no actual sorting. Maybe I should be worried.

This is pretty much us too.  He's done it before, but he'd far rather hide his lovey in there and then act surprised when he pulls the top off then actually sort the shapes, LOL.

We have two shape sorters and one has a heart. B has trouble with the heart too unless he happens to be holding it with the right end up. If it's upside down he'll figure it out sometimes but he usually just takes the lid off and throws the heart in that way. He has mastered all the other shapes but that heart is tricky!

This is totally us too!! She has no idea even though we work on it.

One day DD just picked up her shape sort and started putting all of the blocks in like a pro.  But, she can't get the heart either.  She keeps trying to shove it in the triangle spot.  She also gets frustrated with the star and the plus sign, but can do them if she has patience.

This is often B.  When he does use the lid, he's pretty good with the circle and the rectangle.  The square gives him the most trouble, usually because he has the angle wrong so it goes part-way in and gets stuck.

Ok I sat her down with it just to make sure she's not slow, ya know. hers has 12 different shapes and holes so it's kind of overwhelming, but when I point to what hole a piece goes in she can put it in just  fine. She would just rather dump them out and throw them all over the room.
