The jumperoo

For those of you with a LO who likes the jumperoo, how did you get them to do it? Our first problem is that he is too little for it so even if I put books under his feet, they end up sliding all over the place. Secondly, he just kind of sits there. As much as I move his feet, etc, he still doesn't get that it jumps.

What did you do differently?

Re: The jumperoo

  • I grab LO's feet and make him bounce....he realized now that is what he is supposed to do!! I also rock it back in forth, again by grabbing his feet. Seems to work ok.

  • Loading the player...
  • I also make her bounce. Other times, she just likes chilling in it and playing with the toys.

  • Can I piggyback on this post?  For those of you with jumperoo, what head/neck support did you buy to make LO stable in there?

  • Well I stick a towel behind him to bring him forward, his neck is pretty strong and doesn't need much support... if he is a little tired though, he will bring his head forward a bit, so I will stick a stuffed animal in front of him to catch his head should it slam forward.

Hugga Bebe (I think that's what it's called).  You can use it for other things like a park swing too!

  • DD uses the Hugga Bebe as well.  Bought it at Buy Buy Baby, but they probably have it at Babies R Us and online too.  For the first few times DD used the Jumperoo she pretty much sat there and did a little shuffling.  But each day she got a bit more adventurous and now she does lots of shuffling and some crazy jumps using both feet at the same time.  Maybe there is more I could do, but she likes it no matter what she's doing, so I figure she'll "get it" in her own time.

  • Time will help. He is still a little young for it.

My son doesn't do anything but sit there too! He kicks really well in his bouncer seat and on the kick and play...
