Question about SID/SPD?

I tried searching the board before I posted but couldn't find anything specific.

My five year-old cousin was recently evaluated and diagnosed with SPD. I want to support them anyway I can, so I'd like to educate myself, but Google can be pretty overwhelming.

I'm hoping someone on this board could point me in the right direction in the best way to get info on SPD. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!

Re: Question about SID/SPD?

  • Out of sync child is an awesome book, I am on my second read through right now.

I am also reading "Your essential guide to understanding sensory processing disorder" and "Understanding your Child's sensory signs, a practical daily use handbook for parents and teachers" both by Angie Voss. The understanding book is cut and dry, "if you kid is going this, they need a, b, and c." The essential guide is a very easy read and written a low reading level but it's all over whelming so having it broken down is nice in it's own way.

As far as online information and resources so far I have found a lot of information at these places:

     https://www.sinetwork.org/

     https://www.sensoryplanet.com/home.php

     https://www.spdbloggernetwork.com/

right now the only dx we have is SPD and I have been doing a lot of research. Those are good jumping off points.
