anyone not witnessed a rollover yet???

Grayson loves both tummy time and being on his back....but I haven't seen any rollover attempts yet-in either direction. Lots of arm and leg movement buy still patiently waiting on the big ROLL...........

Re: anyone not witnessed a rollover yet???

  • DD gets about halfway before she's content to chill on her side. Most of the time she's going from back to tummy, but she doesn't really like tummy time that much, so I guess she doesn't have any real motivation to complete the roll.

  • I haven't yet - my son was born Feb 24th but he was also born 6 weeks early.  "typical" rolling from tummy to back is around 5 months.

  • Audrey was 3 1/2 months before she rolled over (which appears to be the age of Grayson). Hopefully, he will soon!

Me!!  But mine hates tummy time so much that we rarely do it...  It literally takes about 10 minutes to console him and stop the tears after I even attempt it for 2 minutes.

  • LO has been rolling around in his crib from back to stomach for a few weeks. And when he was about 4 weeks old he would roll from tubby to side, but he wont do it anymore. But he hates tummy time.

No rolling in either direction for Z!  He loves tummy time and being on his back but he loves to stand more so we stand most of the day.  I'm not ready for another mobile child so he can stay immobile for as long as he wants!

  • DD has rolled over unassisted once this past Sunday but hasn't done it since.  I think she figured out that she went from back to tummy and she hates tummy time!

  • No rolling here.  Just lots of movement of legs and arms.  He does not appear to want to roll either.

No rollovers here. He tries to crawl instead.

Same for us! She's just not into tummy time on a mat. She's good when she's laying on me.

  • No rolling here either.  He gets from his back to his side and digs his face in the floor but can't figure the final part out!  No attempt from tummy to back.  He just planks constantly!

LO will roll from his back to his sides, but that's about it.

  • My babygirl just started lifting her head last week.  She's also now trying to roll onto her side.  She can get there, but that's about as far as she gets...

  • We did! We have had one belly to back roll and several attempts. He will be rolling all the time any day.
  • DD hasnt rolled yet either but she is sooo close! I have instructed the baby sitter and DH do not let her roll over if I am not there. They arent allowed to do tummy time, we wait until both DH and I are off of work, so neither one of us misses it.

She rolls her bottom half over....she lifts her legs and butt when she is on her tummy and rolls them almost over to her side but her top half hasnt followed yet, so she ends up just splatting back down...lol

All my neices/nephews rolled between 3-5 months, most right around 4 months.

  • DS rolled from tummy to back once at about 2.5 months, but we figured that was just a fluke b/c he didn't do it again.  That was until this weekend...we had him on his tummy in his crib, getting ready for a nap (yes, I let him nap on his tummy, and I constantly check on him), and he rolled at least 5 times.  I kept putting him back on his tummy, and he would just roll to his back b/c he knew if he stayed on his tummy, he would fall asleep.

We haven't had a roll from back to tummy yet, and it doesn't seem like he's even interested in that.  He doesn't really like tummy time, so that could be why.

ETA: I thought he was only rolling one way, but I was wrong...he rolled to his right about 3/4 of the time and his left 1/4 of the time.

  • Same as PP- he did it once really early, but not since then.

He goes from tummy or back to side all the time, because he is a side sleeper, but he doesn't get the whole way over.

In his mind, he's ready to start sitting up.

Sophie did roll over once, very very early (maybe at 1 month), when we first did tummy time. She got so upset that she kind of flung herself over onto her back. She was so surprised by it that her eyes opened really wide, looked stunned for a minute, then completely melted down.

But she detests tummy time. I'm lucky if I get a full minute without her screaming bloody murder. Because of that, she hasn't even given us the opportunity to witness a potential rollover since that first freak occurrence.

No rollovers yet.   He only can take tummy time for a few minutes every day.

But he does the worm at night I put him at the top of his crib and he ends up at the bottom when he wakes up for his night feeding.

  • LO has rolled from tummy to back 4 times, but I think he would prefer to just start walking :) He loves to just stand up with support.

  • Conner has rolling from back to belly down, has for 2 weeks now.  But has no clue how to go from belly to back so gets frusterated easy

OMG this is us exactly...so glad I'm  not alone in the tummy time torture!!! Matthew absolutely hates it!! I rarely do it for the same reason...I just hope he learns to crawl eventually on his own!!
