I have a 4 year old and expecting my 2nd in Sept. We are moving to the Frisco/McKinney border. Any recommendataions for pediatricians in the area?
Actually, I am sure there are a lot of moms needing recommendations all over the metroplex. Since this board is so quiet, let's get it going with posts. Please go ahead and post your pedi recommendation and area for others. Thanks!
Re: Pediatrician Recommendation
We see Dr. Weiser - Crow at Centennial Pediatrics and we love her.

Hello there ladies
I am a new mom and my pedi is with the Pediatric Associates of Dallas group. They have offices in Dallas and Plano. I live in Dallas, and they have a very convinient location. The Dallas office is open on weeknights and Saturdays, so if you babe is sick, you do not have to take off of work to be seen. There doctors have privlages at Children's Hospital, so if heaven forbid something happen, your baby will be seen by your doctor in the hospital, and not a doctor that you do not know. Also, when my baby was born the on call doc came to examine my baby and is the on that discharged her from the hospital. I love my Dr, her name is Dr. McClard. Check them out..

This office. Not this doctor came highly recommended. I recently had to leave the practice due to bad service, long hold time when I called and rude treatment when I tried to address concerns about my preemies health long wait time at appts etc. I honestly think they are good docs with way too many patients. Well visits must be booked 90 days in advance.
Anyway, I left the practice to go to Best Nest pediatrics (much smaller just 2 docs) its much more friendly and both docs are moms with really young kids so they understand all your crazy concerns. I was able to get an appt in less than a week, there is no wait time and everyone has been more than friendly.
For Grapevine I have several friends that either see Dr Shori or Dr Mccoy. I go to Dr. Zwernemann at Southlake Family medicine and I love her!! I can always get in same day and she spends a good amount of time answering my questions.
We use this same group in Dallas, but I have a friend who uses the office in Plano. We have been nothing but happy with the practice. They are open daily until 9 PM and also saturday hours. I have never called and not gotten in right away. I have actually had to turn down appointments because it would take me longer to get there and I would be late to the appointment. We have seen several of the doctors in the practice and they are all great.
Us too (the Dr. Chad Smith part). We started off using Dr. Yuri Cook off of a recommendation from a nurse at Dallas Presby since we live in Allen and didn't want to drive all over the place for the numerous pedi appointments you will have. Dr. Cook is great, and the head of the group so he can be difficult to get in to see at times. Dr. Chad joined Raintree around the time my daughter was three months old and she's seen him ever since (she's 3 now) and we will take our LO there in the future. I think we've been there enough to help put his kids through college...
Also, if anyone needs a good ENT reference, Dr. Richard Thrasher did my daughters tubes at 10 months, he's also younger but a great, patient doctor. He practices at Medical Center at McKinney and Allen Presby.
