XP:Bottle Sterilization

I plan to sterilize a few bottles Tomarrow. I do not want to use  the dish washer. I have a sterilizer but it is avent. I plan on trying out avent and dr.brown and having a few of each handy just in case. So what is your suggestion? Boiling water? Soap and Hott water? Also if you boil them, for how long? TIA!

  • When they've been used, we wash with hot soap and water, THEN boil it for 3-5 minutes.

When they are brand new, we just boil for 5 minutes.

  • Brand new I hot water and soap them...then put them in a Medela Steam Bag to sanitize. On a daily basis I just hot water and soap wash them...sanitize every now and then.

  • I wash with hot soap and water and then boil water in our large pasta pan and dip everything in and pull it out, right now I do it everyday for all bottles.  Did this for DS as well for the first 3 months.

I wash with hot soapy water (new bottles as well) and put them in the steam sterilizer after each use.

  • I have the Avent bottle sterilizer. I highly suggest a sterilizer... It saves so much time! You just put distilled water in the bottom and microwave, it is awesome.

For new bottles, we boiled and then washed in hot soapy water.  After they have been used, we wash them in super hot soapy water.

  • For new bottles we wash and then sterilize.  On a daily basis we wash with hot soapy water and sterilize every once in awhile.  We use the Munchkin steam bags...very easy and don't take up any room.

  • For new bottles we boiled them and used hot soapy water. I also have a dr. browns sterilizer and we used that after each hand wash. We do not have a dishwasher so this has been one of our favorite items.
