You should feel lucky that most of the 'oldies" from my day are no longer lurking. They'd start with the "we started this board and this is not how we invisioned it to be" crapola. Or the "You should be grateful that we started the board, otherwise it wouldn't be here" Right, because "we" wouldn't have thought of it.

Sorry, that turned into my rant. Love to ya girl. I wish I could look into the future and be able to tell ya that things will be better. i'll keep you in my thoughts though. ::smooches::

I do think it was wrong of her, we have had many more supportive women and women who have been here longer take their BFPs to PGAL, when was the last time anyone posted a BFP on this board? everyone lurks over on PGAL and would have seen it. Anytime a BFP is posted here it brings so many drive bys and trolls.. So while she happily gets to scoot over to PGAL we have to deal with the hurt and aftermath that comes, that is why you will more than like never see a "oldie" post a BFP here cause we have lived it countless times. I'm not saying graduates shouldn't post here. I love seeing graduates post here but the fact she posted a BFP, yes it's going to hurt the board more than y'all think, especially since we have had 4 or 5 trolls in the past 24 hrs already. VQ, I love you, but this isn't fair. Katharine was clearly a "regular" and followed the BFP guidelines of the blog. We've had many posters wanting more regulars to post BFPs, and she was okay to do so. And she deserves congratulations from us, even though her BFP came at a time of board turbulence (which isn't her fault, of course). I understand being bitter and upset and worried about the board, but you should have kept this one to yourself.

I get what you are saying and I see that everyone makes their own personal choice in this, but I thought by the blog that Katharine more than qualifies? "Post that sucker up" or something like that if you have been around and suporting several cycles?

The one thing everyone says here on a regular basis is to read the blog and to adhere to the rules. Katherine did that, and it's still wrong. That just doesn't seem right. If BFP posts aren't welcome regardless, then the blog should be updated.

VQ, I love you, a great big whole squishy lot. But, when I sat down and hammered out those rules (based on the board culture and desires), I never thought I'd hear you say such a thing. Never in a million years. You may not like that this BFP was posted in the midst of a sh!t storm, I may not like it, someone who got a BFFN today may not like it. But, she's earned the right to post it.

 

I don't have a problem with the BFP part. I have a problem with taking every opportunity possible to say how messed up this board was and taking every chance to dig at much loved members, to turn around and say it's been your home and act like you've loved every second of it. Yeah, I have a problem with that.

I'm more pissed about the fact that considering there is a shitstorm here lately, the fact that we have had drive bys here lately, she didn't seem the have the respect for the board to take it to PGAL, as I said in my edit. Anyone can post a BFP and you know what I am happy for every person that gets out of this personal hell called TTCAL. But I also think that there should be respect as well. If you know the board is in turmoil.. Why do something that can cause it more harm. Actually this post was not brought on by this, I was annoyed yes, but I wasn't going to say anything until pance brought it up and I'm not going to lie when you call me out, just not going to do it, that was not my maim issue that was going on thou, it had more to do with what LaTi is speaking of then a BFP.

I actually like that she posted her BFP! I wish more regulars did. Yes,it opens it up to more gots who drive by with their BFP. But I'd rather see regulars post BFPs than not. We fought very hard to get regulars to post. I hope ut continues.

I actually like that she posted her BFP! I wish more regulars did. Yes,it opens it up to more gots who drive by with their BFP. But I'd rather see regulars post BFPs than not. We fought very hard to get regulars to post. I hope ut continues.

As for LaTi's point. I have to agree, but only because of the off board back-stabbity crap I've seen.  

It is pretty gross to b!tch and moan to high heaven about how horrible TTCAL is, and how much you hate people on the board, and then come to the board and act innocent, or coordinate attacks off board and then come here to drive someone off the board. There are SEVERAL people here guilty of that.

I am sad to see some of this.  I firmly believe that even if you disagree with Katharine's post from the other night (BTW, we ALL have differences of opinion), or even hell, if you disagree with everything she has ever said, how does a bfp that qualifies not deserve a congrats? Or at least not a bashing?  We all have been too hurt to say we wont congratulate someone bc we dont agree with things they have had to say.

why do I feel like everything I say is being taken out of context. Of course you can post it, but I know if it were me in that situation, I would take it to PGAL because I know how BFPs especially in times of turmoil cause more problems for the ladies left here. But I guess it's just me that thinks that, which is perfectly fine. I have my opinion everyone else has theirs, they are like assholes, everyone has one. And everyone is entitled to their opinion. Maybe my first post about it came out wrong, again like I said I'm happy for anyone who gets to move over, but in MY opinion it was in bad taste for her to post on this board about it the same day we have had at least 4 drive bys.

This post is the exact reason why I have stopped posting here. This is a perfect example of how the "rules" change depending on the person. I don't EVER comment on all the bs posts around here about "rules" and "oldies" and "newbies" because I think they are ridiculous and I know the comments will fall on deaf ears. But I am so mad about this! Katherine did nothing wrong by posting her BFP (per the blog) and yet the joy and celebration of that was taken away by this bitterness (your definition). And please don't try to back pedal now and say it wasn't all about the BFP....you already admit that.

Or at least not a bashing?  We all have been too hurt to say we wont congratulate someone bc we dont agree with things they have had to say. 

I didn't say it didn't deserve one. I truly hope she never has to come back to TTCAL and that this is her take home baby as I do for every woman that has been in this situation.

This post is the exact reason why I have stopped posting here. This is a perfect example of how the "rules" change depending on the person. I don't EVER comment on all the bs posts around here about "rules" and "oldies" and "newbies" because I think they are ridiculous and I know the comments will fall on deaf ears. But I am so mad about this! Katherine did nothing wrong by posting her BFP (per the blog) and yet the joy and celebration of that was taken away by this bitterness (your definition). And please don't try to back pedal now and say it wasn't all about the BFP....you already admit that.

I've said several times it wasn't all about the BFP so how would I be backpedalling? Yes it annoyed me and as I have already said I was called out and I was truthful that some of it was about her posting a BFP on the board. But again anything I say can be construed just as anything you say, or Petra, or Katherine, or pance, or the list can go on and on can be construed, yeah I'm bitter I've admitted that many times as well. Not just on this post.
