Kid can sleep through a MLB game but not . .

We took the kiddo to his first Dodger game last Saturday.  Yeah Go Dodgers!   He was out by the bottom of the second inning.

But I have him at home and the Mister slams a door he's wide awake!  What gives?  Do we need a sound machine.  I just recently started to run a humidifier that makes a bit of noise.   But I'm not sure if that's going to cut it.

Any suggestions?

  • We just broke out the box fan...increased air circulation + white noise = two birds with one stone!

  • My son LOVES the white noise machine! I highly recommend it for anyone.

If you have an iPhone, there is an app called white noise baby that is great and only costs 99 cents.

  • Are you making it quiet in the house when he naps?  I find that the quieter I keep it, the more likely he is to wake up at the slightest noise.  If we have normal "life noise" going on in the house and don't try and keep quiet, he sleeps right through.  Strange, but true.

  • We never purposely make it quiet for DD to sleep.  There is always some sort of noise going on.  She'll sleep through just about anything.  If you want a white noise, try a fan to see if that will help.  We have one running when she goes down for bed at night.

We are quiet in general.  But we're not tiptoeing around.  I think it's just too quiet for him.  I think I'll keep running the humifier and bring in a fan.

  • Kyle will sleep through slamming doors, blaring music, any kind of loud noise. But in the midst of all the loud noise if he hears a tiny chair squeak? Hes wide awake and screaming.... these kids are strange lol
