should my 3 week old (actual age) 38weeks gestational) be having more awake time during the day? she wakes up (or i wake her) to eat and she is awake for about 30 minutes to eat and falls back asleep. should i be keeping her awake more during the day?
Re: 3 weeks old..more awake time?
I have heard at this age they should be up for maximum of 75 minutes at a time, that includes the time to eat.
My LO has a longer awake time most mornings, up to 2 hours, but after that she'll stay away maybe 30 minutes after eating and sometimes falls right asleep.
At 3 weeks, I would say 45-50 minutes max, including eating and the time it takes to fall back asleep. Don't force her to be awake!!!!
(Here's a post I wrote that has awake time guidelines; https://community.thebump.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/47755634.aspx)
