Hi, my DH has Kit on his list, he found in a baby name book, as a stand alone name. But I cant help but feel it is short for something. I really like it though. So just wondering if anyone know if it is short for something else?
We will be using it as a nickname for Catherine if this baby is a girl. Well, it's one of the names we're taking with us to the hospital. I think Kit is an adorable nickname, but I agree that it doesn't work so well as a stand alone name.

As other people have said, I know it as a nickname for Katherine/ Kathleen. I also happen to think Kit is a cute name as is, though!

Although, apparently the Kit I am thinking of is actually spelled Kitt... I totally think I just dated myself. Yes, I am old.
This is exactly what came to my mind as well!
