Parathyroidism

I posted on this board awhile ago when we were just trying to conceive.  I was hoping to find someone with the same diagnoses but I know parathyroidism is pretty rare in younger people.   Now I am pregnant and thought I would come back and say hi again.  I am considered high risk but still hoping for no complications.  Anyone with this condition?  Well, hello and best of luck to all of you.

I have hyperparathyroidism and am 6 weeks. I'm nervous. Did you get surgery during pregnancy?

I'm sorry I should have read your question better. I thought you were saying either hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism. You are talking about hyperparathyroidism. Just out of curiousity do you have primary or secondary hyperparathyroidism? I work with kidney disease patients who have secondary hyperparathyroidism but that's a whole other issue.

My suggestion would be to talk to a doctor about your plans to try to conceive. They know your medical history and would be able to tell you what you need to do.

I have primary hyper pt. I'm 10 weeks. As of now, I'm waiting to do the surgery until after pregnancy....
