Flying with LO on Wednesday...(tips?)

I will be flying to my hometown on Wednesday.  We leave at 530 am and arrive at noon with an hour layover... I used to be a very active flyer a few years ago... but not sure how it will go with a LO...

Im trying to plan my trip so I have an easy experience...We have a car seat and snap and go stroller that will be checked planeside so I will have them to transport LO through the airports...I 50/50 formula feed and breast feed... but while traveling I will formula feed and pick back up with breast feeding once I get there... I have a formula container that already has his food measured out for easy mixing... I am also planning on feeding him right when the plane takes off and again when we are landing to help with his ears...

Anyone fly before with a LO?  Any tips to help make the flight more manageable?

  • I would probably leave the formula in its regular container. Security may give you a hard time if it's not.

  • We bought premixed formula in jars. It made it easy for that part of the trip.

They are more concerned about liquid. Get water after you go through security. When you go through security, see if they have a "family" line. You will carry your LO through the scanner and the car seat through the X-ray. Have all your liquids in a separate bag and pull them out before you get to the X-ray to be faster.

  • Call the airline.  They gave me all the tips and what I could and could not do.  You can pack a baby bag and put anything in it including liquids if it's for the baby. The bag must be exclusively for the bag.  The car seat snap n go was a lifesaver aT t he airport.
